My mom said that Croatia is the new Venice, and though I snorted derisively at her (she often mixes up places), I started to hear about inexpensive holidays that could take us over there.  Us being my soon to be married husband and I.

So the crossover is culture – Croatia not only has some lots of bays, coves and other secluded spots, but also has some lovely places to go and explore.  Croatia which is in the former republic of Yugoslavia is a beautiful place, steeped in history.  Some people might question whether you’d want to visit somewhere which may have, at one point been described as ‘war torn’ but having been?  You can barely tell unless you go looking for specific memorials.
